In our current 21st Century context what was once a brick and mortar entryway has become a digital façade. This portal is the place and means by which your community, organisation or business is first experienced. This initial meeting is wrapped in the story your digital presence narrates. Whether it’s simply a website or an entire and intentional social media infrastructure that presents the values, intention and the intangibles that differentiate you, Maya Consulting can help you move from the idea to the practicality, from the imagined into reality, from potential to the achieved.

We have worked within various industries and within each of these sectors it is clear that businesses and organisations are no longer simply able to rely on the experienced outcome or the product to determine a positive response. It has become as much about relationship, as it is with the end product, whether that be a value, tangible brand or an intended outcome. Maya Consulting does not see what we do as separate as to who we are and – in turn – that connexion should be reflected within a digital environment.

Maya Consulting has walked with:

• Small business entrepreneurs;
• Established gaming companies involved in console and PC platforms; and,
• NGOs and faith-based communities.

We would be honoured to explore how our gifts and skills might assist you to continue your own journey into the digital environment within a interconnected world. Please take a moment to see if the descriptions below might help in your own discernment about what might best fit your context!

Static Site

A Static Site is best understood as presenting information in a manner like a billboard. Though the Static Site might have multiple pages, once it is deployed, there is little content change and what does require adjustment is usually more in respect to general updates (i.e. price adjustments, scope of project parameters, descriptions of services).

Dynamic Site

A dynamic site is very similar from a Static Site, in that it may possess multiple pages. The primary difference, however, is that it is content driven. What this means, is that there is new information arising (i.e. blogs, calendar & events, special features or products) that require updates. In such instances, we  utilise WordPress as a website platform owing to its flexibility, ease of use and its nature as a standard in many regards.

Social Media

In many ways, this is the growing area for a web presence. An infrastructure is often – though not bound to – a (Static/Dynamic) Site that makes use of other social media platforms (i.e. twitter, facebook, Google+, YouTube, Pinterest). Establishing such a presence within this area often begins with understanding that your web presence is as much about potential relationships, as it is in sharing your passion, whether that’s a product, vision or dream!

The two primary areas of our Design Services, are best described as reflecting a range of possibilities. For the sake of ease, the range includes:

Design & Deployment

When we first begin to work with Maya Consulting clients, we first endeavour to develop a relationship so that we are able to translate your passion and intention into a web presence that gives our work life. It is important to us to get to know you in order to best translate your product, dream, or vision into a digital environment. After the design phase, Maya Consulting will deploy the Static, Dynamic or Social Media Infrastructure.

Maintenance & Content Management

Depending on our client’s need and comfort in maintaining an online presence, we explore whether or not we can continue our work with one another in respect to the maintenance of a Static, Dynamic or Social Media Infrastructure. If it is determined that this would be of benefit, and Maya consulting has deployed a Dynamic of Social Media Infrastructure, further discussion about providing Content Management services is also something we provide and are always honoured by such an extension of trust!

If you would like to explore this conversation further, please feel free to Contact Us. We would be honoured for the opportunity to discern further explore a relationship with you.

(Design) 1JustCity

One of our most recent projects occurred in our ongoing relationship with 1JustCity. 1JustCity (formerly 1Hope Winnipeg) represents a group of non-profit organizations working together towards a brighter future by connecting with, supporting and empowering the most disenfranchised people in the City of Winnipeg. In Richard’s current work with Winnipeg Presbytery, he has had the opportunity to help assist in refreshing the social media presence for the initiative, which has also included redesigning the website.

The initiative harnesses a multi-layered Social Media Infrastructure. In many ways, this is the growing area for a web presence in such pursuits that ranges from business and entrepreneurial endeavours to NGOs and faith-based communities. 1JustCity’s dynamic website is augmented by utilising several social media platforms: Facebook, Google+, Twitter, and YouTube. Since completing the Spring Refresh 2015 for 1JustCity, which has included Design & Deployment, we continue to provide resourcing in respect to Maintenance & Content Management.

(Design) Canadian Culinary Federation: Winnipeg

Logo: CCFCCIt is an honour to highlight our newest relationship with the Winnipeg Branch of the Canadian Culinary Federation (CCFCC). After exploring their needs, their previous website presence and what their hopes were in respect to integrating the work they do in Winnipeg more intentionally with social media, we began a refresh in 4Q 2014. After renovating the branding of their social media platforms, we began to transfer their old site, domain and hosting to a new provider. During our conversations and listening to CCFCC’s passion to connect both with its member and the larger community of Winnipeg, we decided on a WordPress theme and layout that would allow them to embrace a dynamic site that will help them meet their goals for their May 2015 signature event and beyond!

Logo: CCFCCCCFCC’s presence includes a Dynamic Site and also utilises Facebook &  Twitter as its primary social media platforms. As our relationship evolves, we are also grateful for the trust to also provide the Federation with Maintenance of its website & to provide ongoing support in respect to the branding of its social media presence. This experience with CCFCC has been exciting for many reasons, one of which is the reminder that a web presence is more than a means by which people might garner information. Just as CCFCC supports chefs, suppliers and people working in the hospitality industry, we hope our care of their online activity allows them to do the work their Non-Profit organisation has done not only well since 1972, but to excel vibrantly!

Our most recent design relationship is with 1HopeWinnipeg. 1HopeWinnipeg represents a group of non-profit organizations working together towards a brighter future by connecting with, supporting and empowering the most disenfranchised people in the City of Winnipeg. In Richard’s current work with Winnipeg Presbytery, he has had the opportunity to help assist in refreshing the social media presence for the initiative, which has also included redesigning the website.

(Design) Talking Water Project

Our most recent client, Talking Water Project (TWP), invited us into a conversation that has allowed us to stretch and grow. As we have explored TWP’s hopes as an NGO – which intends to inspire people into action through the use of various artistic media – we have utilised a social media infrastructure in new ways.

In many ways, this is the growing area for a web presence in such pursuits that ranges from business and entrepreneurial endeavours to NGOs and faith-based communities. An infrastructure is often – though not bound to – a (Static/Dynamic) Site that makes use of other social media platforms (i.e. twitter, facebook, Google+, YouTube, Pinterest). TWP’s presence includes a Dynamic Site and also utilises twitter as its primary social media platform. As our relationship evolves, we are also grateful for the trust to also provide TWP with Maintenance & Content Management. This experience with TWP has been exciting for many reasons, one of which is the reminder that a web presence is more than a means by which people might garner information. The visual nature of any site – Static or Dynamic – is as much an expression of your community’s ideas, vision, or products, as it is a digital gallery through which the images used tell the story of who are!

(Design) The Handyman Option

For our friend at The Handyman Option (THO), a static, billboard style website was discerned to be the best way to offer an opportunity to establish a web presence. As the nature of this small business is grounded in personal relationship, anything other than this strategy seemed unnecessary.

The Handyman Option

The Handyman Option

A Static Site can be compared to a billboard, in that it presents information that usually does not require regular adjustment of modification. Though the Static Site might have multiple pages, once it is deployed, there is little content change and what does require adjustment is usually more in respect to general updates (i.e. price adjustments, scope of project parameters, descriptions of services).

After deploying the Static Site, THO has generally maintained and operated the site on their own. Our experience with THO reflects well the manner in which Maya Consulting attempts to first get to know our clients, prior to assuming what might be best. Walking through an intentional time to listen and discover what is important to those with whom we work, we often discover that the wisdom and experience of our clients is a far better resource to establishing an effective online presence.

(Design) The United Church in Meadowood

For six years, The United Church of Meadowood (UCiM) has been using a robust and multi-layered Social Media Infrastructure. Establishing such a presence within this area often begins with understanding that your web presence is as much about potential relationships as it is in sharing your passion, whether that’s a product, vision or dream!

UCiM

UCiM

UCiM, as a faith community, has utilised a Social Media Infrastructure to share their understanding of what it means to be an inclusive and hospitable community that encourages belonging and affirming of all people. In order to meet this objective, UCiM has used such Social Media Platforms as YouTube, twitter, Google+, facebook and the platform specific to The United Church of Canada, Wondercafe. To that end our relationship with UCiM, until 2013, has evolved to include more than 1000 Followers, Likes, and Circles. It has been a journey that has reminded us that the digital environment is not removed from our everyday lives. In fact, our experience has affirmed what more and more sociological studies demonstrate: people who engage with social media are, in fact, demonstrably more trusting and engaged in their everyday lives than otherwise is assumed.

(Design) Exercise Your Options

For our client, Exercise Your Options (EYO), a simple, clean and effective Static Site was determined to best convey the intention of the business.

As a small business, we were aware that a billboard style web presence was important for EYO. For EYO, having a business card on the internet was sufficient and the driving force behind this endeavour would be and is word-of-mouth testimonials. After deploying the Static Site, EYO has generally maintained and operated the site on their own. It has been and is an honour to have the trust of such entrepreneurs extend to us as they present their passion within a digital and interconnected environment such as the internet!
